Ok, I am back… after a way too long blogging hiatus…. I can list a million reasons why– most of which, was that I was very busy with clients, as well as planning my most favorite design job to date, styling my family and the venue for my son’s very “orange” Bar Mitzvah…
But the bottom line is… I am sorry and I am back…
Anyway, lately I find myself absolutely loving brass accents and furniture in a room. It adds hollywood regency glamour and a retro 70’s vibe– which together give a very “cool” feeling to any room– dining room, living room, bedroom, even bathrooms….
I absolutely love this table base and the vintage chairs– they look so amazing with the dark lacquered walls. I just love this entire room, everything about it!
Mastercraft made some of the best brass furniture back in the 1970’s- and many of their great pieces can be found on ebay and 1stdibs.com today—
These table bases below look very similar to the table bases above and may even be the exactly the same– they can be found on 1stdibs.com.
Mastercraft also made interesting wall decor:
This vintage Mastercraft dining chair can be reupholstered in a rich velvet or a funky geometric pattern and have an entirely new look.
I am actually thinking about purchasing these greek key chairs to reupholster… I am obsessed!!
A brass cocktail table can add an element of shine to a dark or light room– I can see these tables in a warm dark den as well as in an all white modern living room.
I am also loving brass accents and hardware in new kitchens– it adds dimension to all white kitchens and can add a vintage/traditional element and also a modern feel depending on how you incorporate it into your design…
I love the flushmount brass lighting and the hicks pendant light over the sink and the simple, yet brass, hardware in this kitchen-
Look at these large brass handles on the refrigerator– LOVE!! Did you notice the brass toe kick? AGAIN… LOVE!!
What do you think of brass accents and furniture? With the popularity of chrome finishes these days, would you incorporate any brass into your home? I’d love to know….
Best,
Cindy
