About

About me… who am I?  Good question.  First it may be best to explain who I was or have been… I was born and raised in New York, spent many summers with family in California, went to the University of Michigan for my undergraduate degree and then back to New York for law school.  I practiced as an entertainment attorney  in New York City for many years  and have always had a passion for the entertainment industry and pop culture and still do; that said I have a passion for a lot of different things… interior design, fashion, travel, restaurants, etc.  I think you are beginning to get the idea.  Anyway, while I was enjoying  a career as an entertainment attorney working for various independent film and television companies, I got married.  A few years later,  I became a Mom living in the suburbs.  After my son was born—I realized that I did not want to spend hours away from him commuting to Manhattan where the entertainment industry is based in New York.  Once my daughter was born, I started to think about other options where I could best utilize my talents and still be available to my children.  Friends have always sought my advice on decorating, so I decided to go back to school for Interior Design to the Metropolitan Institute of Interior Design.  Thus the creation of my interior design business, Cindy Leff Interior Design.

I love designing and creating fabulous rooms and homes for my clients.  I aim to create a story that is carried out throughout a room and home— I truly believe love is in the details!  My personal favorite style is Hollywood Regency mixed with a modern flair.  Although, when decorating for active families– my style tends to be leaning towards contemporary in a very homey and eclectic way.  As my mom would say “Casual Fabulous.”  I like a home to look like a person or a family, as the case may be, actually live there.  My signature is to add pops of color and/or a fabulous pattern to complete a room and provide the “jewelry” for the room— and my favorite accessory is a collection of family photos.  I am not fancy—I love good style which means inexpensive mixed with expensive, where it matters.  While, design is my business and my passion– I also love to provide fashion, travel, event-planning and restaurant advice to my nearest and dearest.  I am often on the end of  a phone call being asked “What should I wear?”  “Where should I go to buy?” and “Where should we go?”  I often have friends drop by for advice on outfit options for an upcoming event and I have sent emails to friends in the middle of the night of dress suggestions that often get purchased and worn to special occasions.  I love to suggest restaurants to friends, even including what to order at times.  I have gone so far as to plan travel itineraries for friends who are traveling to my favorite places.  So while this blog is mainly about my obsession with interior design, it will also highlight my other interests and hopefully inspire and help others with their “lifestyle”…..  Hope you enjoy my “leffstyle”… and thank you for coming by!! Hope you visit again soon…

Best,
Cindy
